For more than 20 years J. van Egmond & Zn. is involved in the selection and propagation of summer flowers from seed and tissue culture. Annualy more than 75 million plants are grown for breeders in the Netherlands and abroad. The products are Lisianthus (Eustoma).

For over 20 years J. van Egmond & Zn. are engaged in the cultivation of summer flowers from seed. The company has specialized in Lisianthus and cultivates in more than 2 acres of greenhouses, about 120 million plants per year for flower cultivators on national and international level.

Development

Since 2003 selects J. van Egmond & Zn. the plant material of Lisianthus. For this it uses specially designed Select-O-Mat machines: 7 sorting machines which 24 hours a day, six days per week run all the product processing.
Each plant is individually scanned by a camera on leaf surface and length and then placed in one of the three selections that are used. Incomplying products are destroyed.
This method has a lot of advantages and the customer receives an equivalent product resulting in a faster plant growth and equal branches, less waste, shorter growing period, shorter and faster harvest forests.

Especially for the export J. van Egmond & Zn. works with a 864 plug tray. This has great efficiency benefits for road and air transport. In this way J. van Egmond & Zn. can guarantee their quality abroad.
